John Redmond Named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2026 40 Under 40

Ask anyone at Redmond what they love about working here, and John Redmond’s leadership will often be part of the answer. As our founder and CEO, John has built a company where people understand the business, have a voice in its future, and can see the impact of their work. We’re proud to share that he has been named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2026 40 Under 40.

John’s path began in the field. After high school, he went straight to work as a carpenter and laborer, building the hands-on experience that would become the foundation of Redmond. At just 23, he started the company without outside investors or debt, with a commitment to building a business that could sustain its success.

In just over a decade, that one-person operation has grown into a 70-person team headquartered on Chicago’s Wacker Drive, serving Fortune 500 clients across the country. Redmond achieved a record $140 million in revenue in 2025, more than doubling the previous year’s revenue. Recent projects include The Harry Potter Shop on Michigan Avenue, Northwestern Mutual’s offices in the Loop and suburbs, a nationwide portfolio of work with Medline, and Adyen’s 96,000-square-foot office in Fulton Market.

Through this growth, John has remained accessible and transparent. His open-door policy and quarterly company updates give employees direct access to leadership and a clear understanding of Redmond’s performance.

For our team, this recognition celebrates both what John has built and how he continues to lead. We’re proud of his accomplishments and even prouder to work alongside him.
