Human Capital Research Corporation’s new headquarters in Southport Corridor provided Redmond with a truly one-of-a-kind opportunity to convert a former residential building into a multi-floor office and high-end private residence. Construction kicked off back in 2022 with demolition, where we fully gutted the interior and prepped the building for its future use. This included digging out and lowering the existing basement finish floor approximately 3 feet to make room for the new electrical equipment, adding two structural stair towers, an elevator shaft, and several structural improvements. Several months later, Redmond’s scope expanded to the roof deck, where we installed steel bar joists and decking for a raised amenity roof deck and new roof system.
On the interior, Redmond built out the basement, 1st, and 2nd floors to house dynamic and functional office space for the consulting firm. Unique features included skylights, architectural interconnecting stairs, fireplaces, high end custom millwork, all new windows, open and private office space, and conferencing and lounge areas. On the 3rd floor, a high-end private residence with a mezzanine overlooking the main living space was built along with an Executive Office for HCRC’s CEO.
A huge shout out goes to Redmond’s project team of Giacomo Tusa, Joe Cortese, and Mike Caveney for leading this complex buildout from start to finish, along with Steve Santay and Luke Miller for their support along the way. Thank you to Griskelis Young Harrell, HBK Engineering, McGuire Engineers, and ROCKEY Structures for collaborating with us!
