Redmond is thrilled to announce that Chris Atkinson has joined the team as Project Executive: Cannabis Group. Chris brings deep expertise in cannabis operations, facility construction, and stakeholder management to Redmond’s growing portfolio of cannabis projects. Formerly with Pharmacann, Chris has not only scaled cannabis companies from licensure to operational, but also has managed the construction of over 300k SF of cultivation facilities and dispensaries across national markets.

“As the former Director of Real Estate and Facilities at Pharmacann, one of the country’s largest vertically integrated cannabis companies, Chris brings deep expertise and understanding of the history, present conditions, and future projections across all aspects of the cannabis market,” said John Redmond, Founder & CEO of Redmond. “We see a strong correlation between our experience as a rapidly growing company, and what makes for a successful partner to a cannabis operator.”

Redmond’s Cannabis Group will provide present, prospective, and future cannabis clients with unmatched knowledge and expertise to efficiently bring their business to market in a rapidly growing, highly regulated industry.

The cannabis industry is evolving quickly and the balance of speed to market combined with the high regulatory standards on cannabis projects is what makes them challenging. Redmond’s Cannabis Group is poised to tackle these challenges with the same enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit it brings to all new opportunities. Redmond’s commitment to each client and project, combined with its deep understanding of what’s at stake, sets it apart from other general contractors who have entered this space.

In addition to Chris’s stellar reputation managing highly complex, fast-paced builds, she will work closely with Redmond’s leadership team to ensure social equity is a priority. Redmond’s new cannabis group will be announcing strategic partnerships with local and national organizations that work for equitable access and justice for communities impacted by draconian drug laws.

”Joining Redmond at this critical time during the rapid expansion of the cannabis industry is a natural evolution for my career and Redmond’s vision for their growth in this emerging market,” said Atkinson. “My ability to add deep subject-matter expertise in this highly regulated industry provides an advantage to clients that only Redmond can offer. Coupled with Redmond’s long standing commitment to supporting social equity, we will take a holistic approach to our dedication to supporting the growth and success of this market.”

Redmond was an early construction partner for legal cannabis in IL. Our team has been working to help create a better experience for patients and caregivers since 2017, and to perform the first successful dispensary relocation in Illinois. With Chris on board, Redmond is committing to our belief in the growth and opportunity that this burgeoning industry will provide for decades to come.
